CopyrightMixed Acid Perchloric Fume Hoods

6’ Perchloric Acid fume hood. Good for all types of laboratory settings, this fume hood has self-contained internal wash-down spray jets to inhibit perchloric crystal formation within the fume hood and duct work. Fume hoods can be made to any specific size or design, and are available in either white or grey PVC interiors.
CopyrightThe rear and side plenums are designed to deflect heat from the interior walls of the fume hood, increasing durability and longevity of the product. A rear drainage trough allows for easy cleaning and inhibits the buildup of potentially reactive perchloric salts.

An optional safety feature can be installed that includes an alarm that sounds in the event of fan complications, preventing the damage of your equipment, while ensuring a safer work environment for your employees. GMP’s technicians are fully certified in the production of products that pass ANSI/ASHRAE 110-1995 specifications, and can work with your laboratory technicians to ensure your fume hoods are operating at optimal levels.
CopyrightAcid Neutralizing Tank

Gold Metal Plastics has created a new acid neutralizing tank. Available in 50, 75, or 100+ litre sizes, and made from high density polyethylene or polypropylene, this tank is perfect for smaller laboratories where local acid neutralization is needed.

Designed to withstand the extreme conditions of effluent neutralization, these tanks can be built to any specification, and are built from 100% virgin sheet stock. Unlike rotational molding tanks, the tanks built by Gold Metal Plastics have no additives in the construction material, creating a more durable, longer lasting product. Polyethylene constructed tanks can withstand temperatures up to 60°C (140°F), and polypropylene tanks can withstand temperatures up to 100°C (212°F).
CopyrightLimestone chips, marble chips, or dolomite can be added to the bottom of the tank with water to increase dilution. (The choice of neutralizer will depend on the type of effluent needing dilution). The effluent bubbles up through the perforated cross and the chosen neutralizing agent, then exits the tank as a diluted liquid. Professional analyzation of the neutralized effluent is strongly advised.
